We serve our extensive breakfast buffet daily from 07:00 to 11:00. If you would like to have breakfast earlier, please let us know at reception. Please make arrangements the day before.

Until when can the room be used on the day of departure?
Your room is available to you until 10:00 am on the day of departure. If you are in a hurry in the morning, we recommend that you settle the bill the evening before. You are welcome to pay in cash, by EC card or credit card (VISA, Mastercard).

German railway
The nearest railway station is in Zella-Mehlis, around 10 km from the hotel. There is a regular bus service between the Oberhof bus station and the DB railway station. The bus times are available at reception or you can use the online timetable information.

Is it possible to book half board at the hotel?
If you have booked half board, we will be waiting for you for dinner from 18:00. We serve you a daily changing dinner in the form of a buffet. During the meal, selected non-alcoholic drinks are already included in the board price.
Please arrive by 20:00 at the latest. If you have not yet booked half board in advance, you are welcome to do so on site at a cost of € 32 per person. Please also let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances. Please note, however, that we do not have a certified diet kitchen.
Does the thermal spa in Oberhof still exist?
Around 200 metres from the hotel, opposite the spa gardens, you will find the H2Oberhof wellness pool. With your Oberhof guest card, you receive a 20% discount on standard admission prices. An indoor and outdoor swimming pool invite you to take a dip. In summer, the large sunbathing lawn attracts sun-seeking guests. The highlight is the sauna world with eight different saunas and a marvellous sauna garden.

You can use WLAN (Hotsplots Thüringenschanze) in our hotel free of charge after confirming the terms of use, a password is not required. However, 100% coverage cannot be guaranteed.

You received your personal guest card* on arrival. It is valid from the day of arrival up to and including the day of departure. With the Oberhof Guest Card you can travel free of charge on the town bus and you have the opportunity to take part in the Oberhof Information guest programme. During your holiday, you will also receive around 200 additional offers beyond the Oberhof holiday region throughout the Thuringian Forest. You will find all the services in detail in your adventure guide. We will also be happy to advise you at reception. (*within the scope of the visitor's tax)
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement and for an additional charge (€ 15,- per night). Please be considerate of the other guests, quite a few people are afraid or allergic to animal hair. Dogs are allowed in our restaurant, but not in the buffet area. Dog owners are fully liable for any soiling or damage caused by the animal.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Bergvagabund buffet restaurant. In summer you can take a seat on our cosy terrace when the weather is fine. Please note that we only offer buffets. If you would like to eat à la carte, we recommend the restaurants in the surrounding area.

Is there a sauna at the Hotel Thüringenschanze?
Yes, you will find the sauna in our relaxation oasis on the 2nd floor. The saunas are ready for you daily from 15:00. If they are not switched on, please let us know. It will then take about 20 minutes until the saunas are "ready to go".

You will find a shoe shine machine in the area near reception. Alternatively, we can also lend you shoe polishing utensils.
We are a non-smoking hotel. Please understand that smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hotel.

What is the tourist tax in Oberhof?
Oberhof is a state-recognised health resort and is therefore subject to visitor's tax. The visitor's tax is € 2.00 for adults and € 1.00 for children per day. You will receive the Oberhof guest card in return. The guest card entitles you to numerous extra services. See "Oberhof guest card".
