A dreamlike day in the magical land of miners and fairies
With a bright sky above us, a bulging rucksack and our most comfortable hiking boots, our unforgettable adventure began. Our destination for the weekend was magical Thuringia. In the enchanted world of the Saalfeld Fairy Caves, the "most colourful show caves in the world", the dreamy fairy world and the exciting Grottoneum discovery museum awaited us. With a mixture of excitement and anticipation, we set off on our journey to the land of miners and fairies.
Magical moments underground
We were introduced to the one-hour children's tour with a hearty "Glück auf". Equipped with protective capes, pointed pointed caps and small miner's lamps, we descended into the mysterious underworld. There, deep in the mountain, we discovered narrow paths and a wealth of dazzling stalactite formations. Our guide told us about the history of the miners who once dug for ore in these caves and answered all the children's questions with great patience. The crowning glory of the tour was the fairytale dome, where we marvelled at the majestic, ancient stalactites. When the lights went out and music played, we were enveloped in a breathtaking play of colours that made us emerge enchanted from the depths.
Discover and experience
Back in daylight, filled with curiosity and a thirst for action, we headed to the Grottoneum to learn more about the mysterious world of caves and mining. The interactive museum offered us talking stones, a cave cinema and much more. In summer, we were even able to go treasure hunting outdoors.
A magical nature adventure
In the Feenweltchen adventure forest, we discovered more exciting games for children and adults. We entered the world of nature spirits through the magical fairy gate and were lucky enough to meet a real fairy. On the mysterious paths, we found numerous adventure stations with creative climbing constructions, fascinating stories about fairies and nature creatures, smell and feel boxes, a fairy xylophone and an impressive marble run. While the children had fun, we adults enjoyed the peaceful natural surroundings.
An unforgettable finale
Our day ended with a spectacular slide adventure on the magic slide of the fairy castle.
After a day full of wonders and discoveries, one thing was certain: we will be back! We were deeply impressed by the enchanting attractions of the FEnomenal World. Enchanted and equipped with the right souvenirs, we made our way home.
